Dixit & Zak have revamped one of their house classics into the contemporary genre of perfumes by launching the immensely refreshing 'Santal Oud'spray.
The opening of this perfume reveals a fusion of light fervours of key lime and notes of bitter tea, unfolding a welcoming melody with interludes of herbaceous whiff of Lawsonia Inermis. The moderate embellishments with floral bouquets of Tuberose, are accentuated with magnolia and jasmine, as the mild Rose makes the sweetness rounder against the timbre of sharp bitter wood. The symphony in toto manifests a blend revolving around Australian and Indian Sandalwood, accompanied by Hindi Oud.
The Indian sandalwood permeates with its note of pure Santal incense taking you back to the school days for its scent of that natural aftershave. It further leads you to a certain divine feeling that would pervade in the ceremonial realms of the Tibetan monastery, where sandalwood paste gets freshly grounded.
The dry down stage is marked with incensed classic hay notes of the elevating Oud.
It comes full circle with Assam Oud. Albeit, not without an intriguing twist of unique wood spice experience towards the climax.
We had to curb ourselves from making a larger batch of Santal Oud perfume due to the shortage of similar series of Hindi Oud.
