An evolving march, so as to speak, the ‘Anbar December Edition’ is simply an advanced version of the original classic Anbar. The differential factor here is the infusion of our own private batch of Shamama Zak 2, where there’s been an addition of a whale of Ambergris to it.
Shamama Zak 2 per se was, under the superintendence of Zak, distilled by a family acquainted to Dixit & Zak, which brought in a vast experience of four decades in manufacturing natural attars and rooh. Besides being imbued with a surfeit of Ambergris, there’s an inclusion of various kinds of Resins, Fossil Amber, originated from the Himalayas, simmered for a fortnight through a slow boil method on wood fire.
At the outset, the Anbar December Ed commences with a revelation of honeyed Anbar, zesty Lemon peel, royal Ylang-Ylang, and refreshing Bergamot.
This remarkable opening is followed by a gradual transitioning to moderate notes of the ingredients of Shamama Zak 2, such as Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, Green Cardamom, Nutmeg, Vetiver, Onycha Shells, Amber, Black Cardamom, Fennel Seeds, along with the Blackcurrant Raspberry. This largely brings out the valued aspects, and exhibits the depth of the original Amber.
The process of drying down displays the pyrotechnics of Oud, Sandalwood, Musk, Fossil Amber, Myrrh, Tolu Balsam, Opoponax, Patchouli, Ambergris and a smoky, surreal whiff derived from handed-down distillation techniques.
